I definitly agree with Nanci, but I also think that a green pony is not the best, nor the safest idea for a beginning rider. An idea would be to have her take lessons on a much more experienced one, before thinking that she can handle her own pony. Just because she has potential as rider, doesn't mean that she is ready to make such a large leap on a pony that clearly needs a more experienced hand.
