Well, I ride English and I can tell you a few basic things about it. Of course there's the flatter saddle with a pommel rather than a horn, and it is the jumping type of riding. The saddle's seat is not nearly as deep as in Western, and the stirrups are fixed to be shorter than in Western. Two hands are used to ride, whereas one hand in Western. I don't know if this is the same in Western, but the reins go through your pinky and thumbs are always up. That's about it for now, but good luck on your paper!
