Hi - These are probably warts, not real common, but not uncommon either. They normally go away on their own, given time or I have heard that there is a wart vaccine, however I suspect that it needs to be given before the onset of the warts. Years ago, the recommended treatment for warts was to smother them in mineral oil - just apply it daily and it will help kill them. Other than being unsightly there is really no danger or damage that they do. This is something that youngsters get occasionally. You might want to check the veterinary supply catalogs and see if there is anything out there as a treatment. Good luck.
