Hi Sherry -

Try some Calendula (marigold extract) - you can get it at any natural health store, comes in a small bottle which you then dilute and use as a wound spray. Very good stuff and effective for sores. Aloe Vera is also good. There are a number of wound paints and salves out there, but I prefer the natural ones when I can find them.
Good nutrition is going to help also - so you're on the right track with this guy. Good luck.
